When you run a verb, ClipForge reads the clipboard text, inserts it into the configured prompt, and sends the request to the AI endpoint configured in the app. If you use a cloud provider, that provider receives the text and handles it under its own terms and retention practices. ClipForge does not host the AI service or store transformation requests on its own servers.
ClipForge stores settings, verb configuration, and provider API keys on your Windows account under %APPDATA%\ClipForge. API keys are currently stored as readable text in settings.json; protect access to your Windows account and files. A local Ollama or LM Studio endpoint can keep model requests on your device or network when that endpoint is configured and hosted locally. ClipForge cannot guarantee where a user-configured endpoint processes or retains data.
Paddle processes purchases and provides transaction and customer details needed to issue and manage a license. ClipForge's licensing service stores the license key, associated email address, plan, status, and Paddle subscription reference in Cloudflare KV. Mailgun is used to deliver license emails. The desktop app contacts the licensing service when you select Verify & Activate and sends the entered key for verification.
If you email support, we use the information you send to respond and provide product support. We do not sell support correspondence.
The ClipForge marketing pages do not include our own analytics or advertising trackers. Paddle checkout is provided by Paddle and may use its own cookies or similar technologies under Paddle's policies.
